Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my adjustment hurt?

Generally speaking, no the adjustments do not hurt. Most people feel a sense of relaxation and ease in their body during and after the adjustment. Many patients report sleeping better. If you do feel uncomfortable the day after your first adjustment, it’s because your body is engaging your muscles to rearrange itself and make changes. And changes are good!

I didn’t hear any noises or popping sounds nor did I feel the bone move… did you really adjust me?
There are many different chiropractic techniques and ways of adjusting the spine. Some involve a physical movement of the joints and cavitation, resulting in sounds. Other techniques use light force, whether by hand or by instruments, that do not produce any noise. Both work!

Q: What types of conditions does it help?

It is important to note that chiropractic, whether structural or tonal, is not a treatment for specific diseases. Chiropractic corrects spinal subluxations that are interfering with the neurological control of your body. So, if your body is experiencing indigestion, acid reflux or back pain because of nerve stresses, chiropractic can help.

The type of symptom your body is expressing does not matter, since we’re getting to the root of the cause of the symptom, which in many cases is the malfunctioning of your nervous system.

Q: Is Chiropractic safe for infants and children?

“I have found that tonal adjustments are some of the best ones for children of all ages, from birth to adolescence. Tonal adjusting, as with TRT, is gentle, with no forceful manipulations of the spine. I find that children love getting their spines checked and will often hop up onto the table and want to be checked first, before anyone else in their family.”

Chiropractic is one of the most powerful methods known to enhance your child’s health via natural methods. And because children usually are not subjected to the amount of stress that adults are, and certainly not for the length of time adults have, their nervous systems respond very rapidly to adjustments.

Q: I’ve heard that once I go to a chiropractor, I will always have to go…

The simple answer is of course not. The amount of care and how far you want to take your health is always up to you.

Some patients only want symptom relief, and will terminate their care once their symptoms subside. Other patients want to benefit from increased health, energy and vitality that they can achieve from continued regular care. They see how much value chiropractic has brought into their lives, by allowing them to fully participate in life.

Ultimately, the decision lies in your hands.

You have the final say in how much healing you want to experience, and how much life you want to express!
